“What does my State Representative Do?”
The Florida House of Representatives is the lower house of the Legislature of the U.S. State of Florida. Along with the Senate, it comprises the Florida Legislature. The Florida House is composed of 120 members, each elected from a single-member district with a population of approximately 157,000 residents. The Florida Legislature meets in a 60-day Regular Legislative Session each year during which they vote to create and amend the laws of Florida and the state budget, subject to the Governor’s power to veto legislation.
